Radio Riots In Uganda, Read All About It!

Uganda’s NRM government is now blaming Baganda musicians for composing popular songs which forced it to close the Buganda kingdom radio stations, CBS FM. Last week a Uganda government committee on the closure of CBS FM Radio announced its evidence that CBS FM broadcast dangerous materials in September last year and causes the Kayunga riots. According to the Uganda government owned Luganda newspaper, Bukedde, that evidence includes popular Baganda songs. As part of the evidence the Uganda government blames CBS FM Radio for playing these songs so frequently that when the NRM blocked Kabaka Mutebi from going to Kayunga on October 10,2009, these dangerous songs gave thousands of youths ideas to riot.

A spokesman for Radio Riots said "it had nothing to do with us"

Kasabian Drummer Checks out Radio Riots

Kasabian drummer, Ian Matthews was watching Radio Riots at their gig in the Anchor Pub, Frankwell last night. Any attempt to remain undercover was out of the window before he'd even got through the door, having been spotted by the only Kasabian T shirt wearing Riots fan in the pub. Doubt had spread round the mosh area, but was quickly dispelled when Ian joined the Radio Riots and fans outside during the break.

Ian had fallen and broken his hand while on tour with Kasabian in Milan. He had taken the opportunity to have a night out in rocking Shrewsbury, checking out Radio Riots as possible support for the future.

Congratulations were offered for the Kasabian win at the Brits. Shockingly, Ian and the band had not been put out by the close proximity of the JLS table at Earls Court, who he believed to be hard working lads who fulfilled a particular role in the rich tapestry of British Music. An open minded, eclectic approach to music was advocated. But we still prefer Kasabian...Cant see the Riots covering "Beat Again" any time soon.

All in all another good night for Radio Riots.

Who Needs Wembley Stadium, The O2 Arena or the NIA

Radio Riots do not need Wembley Stadium and 60,000 fans for a good gig. The intimate atmosphere at The Swan in Frankwell Shrewsbury brought out the best in everyone; locals, fans and bar staff all had a good night, though the microphone on the camera was under pressure.
